The purpose of this blog will be to explore and analyze how violence in the media has changed and evolved throughout time, and whether exposure to violence through different mediums such as radio, TV and video-games has different effects, if any, on the general population. This issue is of special interest nowadays due to the growing presence of violent themes in mass-media and how they have found their way into our daily lives through advertisements, movies and TV programs. Are all of these on-screen deaths and bullets causing us to become desensitized to themes and images that we should find disturbing at the very least? If so, is this a serious issue? Will the general public have a greater tendency to committing murders in real life because of media violence exposure?
